Privacy on an independent visitor guide

This page explains how a small editorial site handles a contact form and server logs. It is not City of Melbourne’s privacy policy and not a shopping-centre notice.

melbournecentre.com.au is an independently published visitor guide. It is not an Australian government agency and this page is not a statutory privacy collection notice for City of Melbourne, PTV or any shopping centre.

What this site collects

Browsing the public pages does not require an account. Like most websites, the hosting platform may record technical logs (IP address, user agent, requested path, timestamps) for security and reliability. This guide does not run a subscriber database.

If you use the contact form, you submit the fields you type — typically a name, email address, topic and message. That form is delivered by FormSubmit. Their processing is governed by FormSubmit’s own terms and privacy material. Treat anything you type as email.

Do not send government identifiers, payment card numbers, health information, or passwords.

What we do with a message

Editorial mail is read to answer a question, correct a sourced error, or decline a request that would break the rules on this site (invented prices, restored spam listings, test submissions). We do not sell contact-form contents.

Cookies and embeds

Pages are static editorial HTML. We do not require you to accept a marketing cookie wall to read a laneway guide. Third-party fonts are loaded through Next.js font hosting. If a future embed (for example a map) sets its own cookie, that vendor’s policy applies; this rebuild does not embed a live booking widget.

Photographs

Hero photographs are adapted from Wikimedia Commons files under the licences recorded in docs/IMAGE_CREDITS.md in the project repository. Credits are not a claim that those photographers endorse the guide.

Children

This is a general visitor guide. It is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect personal information from children through the form.

Changes

If the contact mechanism or hosting setup changes, this page should be updated. The footer disclaimer still applies: content is for general information only and does not constitute professional advice.

Earlier URLs

/privacy.html from the 2000s financial-studies site redirects here. That older text was not copied.

What people always ask

Do I need an account to read this guide?

No. Pages are public. The only form is an optional editorial contact form.

Who receives the contact form?

FormSubmit delivers messages to the editorial address published on the contact page. Do not send information you would not put in ordinary email.

Questions about the guide
