Write to the editor, not to the city
Use this form for sourced corrections and questions about the guide. For myki, trams, galleries or emergencies, go to the agency that actually runs the service.
This contact page is for the independent publisher of melbournecentre.com.au. It is not City of Melbourne customer service, a Public Transport Victoria window, Melbourne Central shopping centre management, or Triple Zero.
Use the form below if you:
- spotted a factual error that you can back with a current official URL
- have a question about how this guide is organised
- need to reach the editor for a rights or attribution issue on a photograph credit
Do not send medical details, payment card numbers, identity documents, or anything you would not want stored in an email inbox.
Who to contact instead
- Police, fire, ambulance: 000
- Public transport: PTV and the PTV app
- Melbourne Airport: melbourneairport.com.au/transport
- State Library Victoria: slv.vic.gov.au
- National Gallery of Victoria: ngv.vic.gov.au
- Queen Victoria Market: qvm.com.au
- City of Melbourne civic services: melbourne.vic.gov.au
- Melbourne Central shopping centre: the centre’s own site — not this domain
If your question is “do I tap on inside the Free Tram Zone?”, the citeable answer is already written on the Free Tram Zone guide and on PTV.
What happens to the message
The form posts through FormSubmit AJAX to the editorial address. You should receive whatever acknowledgement that service currently sends. We cannot promise a same-day human reply, and we will not debate unverified claims about cafés, bars, “secret” laneways or archived conference papers.
If you are sending a correction, paste the URL of the official source in the message body. “I was there last Tuesday” is useful colour; it is not a citation.
What a useful message looks like
Good: “The Free Tram Zone page should point at the current PTV map PDF; here is the URL.”
Good: “The Hosier Lane page should mention the current City of Melbourne street-art guidance; here is the civic page.”
Bad: “Add my café, we are the best, here are prices you can republish.”
Bad: “What time does the State Library close next Tuesday?” (That is SLV.)
Bad: “Can you restore the 2008 Finsia conference HTML?” (No.)
Privacy and records
Assume email is not a vault. Do not send identity documents “to prove” a business. A public web page is enough to start a conversation and still may not result in a name on a hub.
We will not argue in writing about neighbours, parking feuds, or claimed defamation by a parked-era listing. Those are not editorial jobs.
Form, inbox, and what we will not do
The FormSubmit AJAX endpoint is the supported path. Do not scrape it. Do not send test payloads. Do not attach executable files. A plain written message with a URL is enough.
If you are asking how a precinct works, you may get a reply that is only a link to a hub on this site plus an official URL. That is a successful reply.
The independent-guide sentence is also a boundary: we are not City of Melbourne, not PTV, not Melbourne Central. Misaddressed mail still takes time. Address it right the first time.
Please do not use the form as a load test. Please do not submit on behalf of a bot “to see if it works”.
Listing a business, without a phone book
There is no self-serve directory login, and we do not scrape the parked article farm back onto the map. If you operate a genuine CBD service and believe a precinct paragraph is factually incomplete — not that it failed to advertise you — write with a public verification URL. Even then, the default page style is guidance. We will not invent a ranking or a price to make a name feel official.
Old conference filenames and spam slugs are not coming back as a listing product. If you are looking for a service, start at the relevant hub and verify on a current public page.
Rights and photographs
Hero images are adapted from Wikimedia Commons files under the licences recorded in the repository. If you believe a credit is wrong, name the Commons file and the page. We will not host a stolen café interior or an unlicensed mural close-up presented as ours.
What silence means
If you asked about a tram rule, you may get a reply that is only a PTV URL. That is a successful reply. If you asked about listing, wait for a human. Silence is not a listing. If you asked for last year’s festival lineup, you may get no reply, because we would not invent it even if we remembered it.
After you write
If your question was really a first-day plan, the first-day note and things to do already hold the answer-first version. If it was really a myki question, PTV already holds it. Use the form when those pages are wrong or unclear, not as a search box that happens to send email.

What people always ask
Can I use this form for tram tickets or gallery bookings?
No. Public Transport Victoria, SkyBus, State Library Victoria, NGV and other venues run their own channels. This inbox cannot sell a ticket or change a booking.
How do I send a correction?
Use the form and paste the official URL that supports the change. A memory of a café from the old parked site is not a citation.
Still looking for a precinct?
If your question is really “what do I do with an afternoon”, start at things to do or laneways instead of mailing the editor.
